2009 Ford Shelby GT500

In early 1960’s Ford form an alliance with Carrol Shelby to build the what they say the high performance version of Ford Mustang, the Shelby Mustang. The 1965, 1966, and 1967 model were the only three series of Ford Mustang that Caroll Shelby specially modified and sold under the name Shelby GT with identification badges Shelby Cobra.

In 1967, Shelby GT500, equipped with 360 horsepower was the most powerful Mustang ever built, it has a distinctive body stripes and strip-style tail lights which was based from Mercury Cougar. Due to its performace and power the GT500 was used in a movie remake Gone in Sixty Seconds in which the lead actor Nicolas Cage name the Shelby GT500 as Eleanor.



Now after Forty years, after the first Shelby GT500 was produced the GT500 is making a come back but this time it is meaner, badder and is powered by a 500 horsepower 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 Racing Power. The GT500 can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.6 second and can go quarter of a mile in 12.8 seconds. The Shelby GT500 was a real deal when it comes to speed and power but all those speed and power has to payoff, due to its weight in the front that was added by the GT500’s motor it resulted in using a chassis that is not entirely suited for carving up twisty roads, but other than that the GT500 covers everything that a certain owner would ever wanted.
